Why is custom designed cabinetry important?

We will custom-design your kitchen to your specific needs and wants, ensuring all available space is utilised. Custom designed means that you are not limited by fixed cupboard sizes available.

A lot of kitchen companies (even more expensive ones) create fillers in your kitchen that are dead space. Only custom-made cabinets avoid this.

Do custom-made kitchens cost more?

Unfortunately, a lot of kitchen companies (even expensive ones) don't provide custom-made cabinetry and you are left with fillers, which are dead spaces and aesthetically unpleasing. Custom doesn't mean more expensive.

Should I just buy a Flat Pack Kitchen?

If you are looking to save money on labour and carry out the installation yourself, this can be done. However, we would recommend having someone with knowledge of the industry assist you with your design to ensure you are utilising all available space. Also, if the cabinetry is not installed properly, it will not provide a good finish and potentially may not last.

We would recommend purchasing any flatpack cabinetry from an Australian manufacturer as they will use Australian Standards materials, which are of better quality and longer-lasting (we do not recommend flatpack cabinetry from Bunnings or Ikea). We can offer pricing on flatpack cabinetry should you prefer to carry out the works yourself.

Can I just replace my doors and drawer fronts and keep my existing cupboards?

AJB Kitchens only carries out full kitchen renovations as we feel the alternative is not cost-effective for our customers. Your existing cupboards (carcasses) will not last as long as your new doors and drawer fronts, resulting in the need to fully replace your kitchen sooner, effectively meaning you are spending more money.

Do I have to remove my old kitchen and rubbish?

No. We take care of that for you. We remove all renovation rubbish from your home and leave your kitchen sparkling clean and ready for you to enjoy

Can AJB Kitchens undertake minor building works such as removing walls or adjusting window sizes?

Yes. We have a close relationship with a licensed builder, which means we can easily organise the full range of trades that you need to achieve your dream kitchen.

Do I need to organise my own trades?

We can manage the lot for you. We can call on our team of fully qualified tradesmen to make your renovation run smoothly, or we are happy to work with your own tradespeople if you prefer.

Do I need to source my own appliances?

We have basic Builder’s Appliance Packs available. If you are looking for a specific appliance, we recommend you attend your nearest Winning Appliances Showroom and order through them. We can provide you with a code providing you with a discount on Winning Appliances orders.

How long will it take to remove and install my new kitchen?

Generally it takes 2-3 days in total. Stone benchtops can take extra time to be installed, as they are not manufactured until your cabinetry is installed.

How long does the average kitchen renovation take?

We suggest that customers allow 6-8 weeks from payment of their deposit to installation.

What is the warranty on my new kitchen?

We offer a full 10 year warranty on your new kitchen, which covers faulty products, work and installation. Call us if there is a problem, and we will be happy to fix it for you.

Are you fully licensed?

Yes we are fully licensed for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. Our Licence Number is 2387765C.

Can you also renovate my bathroom or laundry?

Yes, AJB Kitchens can also renovate bathrooms and laundries for our customers. It is a cost-effective way to renovate as all the trades, materials and supplies are already onsite, which means you save time and money.
